Mikumi National Park covers an area of 3230 square kilometers which makes it one of the largest national parks in Tanzania. Hyenas, baboons, lions, wild dogs, giraffes, warthogs and hippos are the other animals you can always look out for.

2 days Tanzania safari from Zanzibar to Mikumi – Itinerary
Fly from Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam and transfer to Mikumi National Park
Make your own way to the airport in Zanzibar. Today morning you will catch an early flight from Zanzibar Airport to Dar es Salaam where you will be received and welcomed by a representative from Safari Desire. (The flight leaves at 09.00 hours arriving in Dar es Salaam at 09.30 hours).
Your safari guide will be giving you a short briefing about the safari, as you begin the 5 to 6 hour drive across the beautiful countryside along the nicely completed highway which connects Dar es salaam to the park’s gate.
You will have lunch en-route. On arrival in the park, you will embark on a game drive to explore the rich diversity of wildlife here. Because Mikumi together with neighboring Selous game reserve form a large Selous Eco-system, you will certainly be amazed by the numerous wild animals and birds you will see; among which are: elephants, hartebeests, buffalos, kudus, zebras, elands, wildebeests and impalas. Hyenas, baboons, lions, wild dogs, giraffes, warthogs and hippos.
Later in the evening, you will drive to your overnight accommodation where you will check-in, freshen-up and have your dinner and overnight. Overnight is at Camp Bastian. Lunch and dinner included.
Mikumi - Back to Dar es Salaam Fly back to Zanzibar
After, you will drive through Morogoro and Chalinze all the way to Dar es Salaam airport where you will catch a domestic return flight to Zanzibar. This will be the end of our Safari from Zanzibar to Mikumi National Park for 2 days / 1 night.
