Tarangire National Park is situated in the greater Manyara Region of Tanzania, approximately 118 kilometers (73 miles) southwest of Arusha, Tanzania’s safari capital.

Tarangire is renowned for its diverse wildlife population, particularly during the dry season from July to October when vast wildlife herds gather around the Tarangire River. Visitors have the opportunity to see large concentrations of elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, Cape buffalos, and impalas. Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater is a world-famous natural wonder located in northern Tanzania. It is often referred to as the “Eighth Wonder of the World”, or by some ‘The Eden of Africa’, and is declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Ngorongoro Crater is situated in the larger Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA), which is part of the larger Serengeti ecosystem.

Ngorongoro Crater is located approximately 180 kilometers (112 miles) west of Arusha in Northern Tanzania.

The crater itself covers an area of approximately 260 square kilometers (100 square miles) and boasts a varied landscape. It features savannah plains, forests, lakes, and marshes, that provide a range of habitats for a wide array of wildlife.

The Ngorongoro Crater is renowned for its exceptional wildlife concentration. It is often referred to as Africa’s “Eden” due to the high density of animals found within its confines, with an estimated population of 25,000 large animals. The animals found at Ngorongoro include; elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, zebras, wildebeests, buffalos, and numerous species of antelope like elands, gazelles, impalas, hartebeests, and many others.

The Ngorongoro Crater is also one of the few places in Africa where you can spot the endangered Black rhinoceros.

Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park is a world-renowned wildlife sanctuary located in Northern Tanzania and extending into southwestern Kenya in what is known as Masai Mara Game Reserve. The two share an international boundary that partly runs along the Mara River; the epicenter of the annual Great Migration.

Serengeti is one of the most iconic and diverse safari destinations in Africa. Time and again the park has been voted as the best national park in Africa earning prominent awards like the World Travelers Award.

Covering an area of approximately 14,750 square kilometers (5,700 square miles), Serengeti is famous for hosting the annual Great Migration, often regarded as one of the most extraordinary wildlife spectacles on Earth.

Each year, millions of wildebeests, zebras, and other herbivores migrate in search of fresh grazing grounds, following a circular pattern between the Serengeti in Tanzania and the Maasai Mara in Kenya. The availability of water and food drives this migration and attracts predators like lions, cheetahs, and crocodiles.

Apart from the wildebeest migration herds, the park is renowned for its remarkable wildlife diversity. It is home to an incredible array of animals, including lions, leopards, elephants, Cape buffalos, giraffes, zebras, hippos, and various antelope species. The park also boasts a rich birdlife, with over 500 bird species recorded.
